About Gino's Sicilian Express

Wandering through the charming streets of Santa Barbara, a delightful surprise awaits on 12 W Figueroa St. Gino's Sicilian Express, a quaint spot bursting with flavors that transport guests straight to the heart of Sicily, offers an unforgettable dining experience. Perfectly nestled in a location that blends downtown vibrancy with a laid-back coastal vibe, this restaurant has quickly garnered a reputation as a must-visit for both locals and tourists alike.

Upon entering Gino's, the aroma of fresh garlic and basil greet visitors like an old friend. The decor, casual yet vibrant, invites diners to relax and enjoy their meal as if they were part of a big Sicilian family gathering. The menu, a delightful assortment of traditional dishes, showcases the culinary expertise that Gino's has become known for. A glance over the offerings reveals classics like the ever-popular Margherita pizza, lovingly topped with fresh tomatoes and creamy mozzarella, or the Pasta alla Norma, a hearty dish that celebrates eggplant in all its Sicilian glory.

One dish, however, seems to stand out among the rest: the Arancini. These golden-fried rice balls, crisp on the outside and perfectly cheesy on the inside, are raved about in reviews and are a testament to Gino's knack for delivering authentic Sicilian fare. Locals often drop by just for a taste, testifying to the snack's popularity. Another crowd favorite is the Cannoli Siciliani. These sweet, crispy tubes filled with ricotta and adorned with a dusting of sugar somehow manage to be indulgent yet delicate, capturing the sweet essence of Sicilian desserts.

It's not just the food that draws people in; the atmosphere and service further enhance the experience. Staff members, always eager with a warm welcome and knowledgeable about each dish, engage guests in conversations that feel as genuine as the meals they serve. Recommendations from the team are not to be missed, as they often hint at some of the daily specials or lesser-known gems on the menu.

Gino's Sicilian Express stands as a testament to the saying that the best meals are those that transport diners to another place. Situated in such a vibrant part of Santa Barbara, it's a gem that beckons with promises of a delicious journey through rustic Sicilian eats. The restaurant not only satisfies the taste buds but does so with a warmth that keeps patrons coming back for more.

Was craving a good slice of pizza and that is exactly what I got here at Gino’s. My stomach has never been more fulfilled. Extremely happy with my experience and could not ask for anything better. Come to Gino’s if you want the environment , the food, and everything in between.

We ate here last night. My husband and I. He is from NY and I am from California. He had the chicken parmagiana panini and I had chicken pesto panini. We met the chef Tim outside and we said it was our first time here and he said he had just taken a pizza out of the oven. We were wondering how it was and while we waited he brought us a slice to try. That was really nice. It was very good pizza. Our son just showed up at his hotel and we ended up getting a pizza for him and his wife. Also my husband is Sicilian and we enjoy Sicilian/Italian food. Thanks Tim and staff.

So, where do I start? The pizza is amazing and delicious! No doubt about that. However, the customer service is getting worse from visit to visit. We booked them for our weeding about 2 years ago and everyone loved their pizza. I believe her name was Loren who was such a sweetheart and helped up make our day so special. But with every visit there after, the service gets more and more rude! I have corporate benefits through my company and they are clearly listed on the app. The person at the register refused to even listen to what I had to say about the discount and rather accused me of showing a “fake” coupon! The statement was as clear as it can be that the coupon is fake. When I told them that’s it’s not fake, they may want to contact the company who apparently stole their information and are advertising that Gino’s Pizzeria in Santa Barbara is having a coupon to corporate benefits members, he instantly said that it’s not his job to do that! I hope he did not except a tip after this humiliation! To top it off, after we went outside to wait for the pizza, we heard him talking to his coworkers about how ridiculous my question about the coupon was! The only ridiculous and sad part is that he should probably not be doing any type of customer service!
